We suspect in the UK, off road MTB riders probably already do this. I'm thinking the bicycle pathway sere and safety might be improved if pathway riders did the same.
If you ride around a blind corner, and you come upon an oncoming rider, and you know there is one or more cyclists following just behind you, one courtesy yo might do is say something like, 'one more' if there's another cyclist following you. This is a good policy whether the following cyclists are in your party or not. If, for example, there's four of you in a group and you're the second rider around the blind corner, let the oncoming rider know with something like 'two more'.
