Norm Solberg started practicing law in Osaka in 1963, the same year I was born in Rangoon. I suspect he now realises that my being 4,369 km to his West was no coincidence.
In 2006, my employer in Osaka had me making the networking rounds. By then, Norm had served his time on the social circuit. At one event, a visiting ambulance chaser from America was speaking to me. He seemed particularly amused that, in his 80s, Norm was about to have a child. He laughed in a way that was a mix of mockery and jealousy.
