My recent UK warmup taught me a bit. The English did not subdue the Scots.
I'm not sure anyone, including Us, could tell the difference between a Fairport boy & a Brightonian.
The Scots appear to make mixed duos, e.g. Fairport Convention, The Eurhythmics, Everything but the Girl, better than anyone.
The Scots domesticated the English. The Scots have known this forever. The English? Not so much.
