Like many Americanisms the media perpetuates, lame duck is not just incorrect. Lame duck suggests the opposite of what a second term presidency is. A lame duck is hampered. After a first term of being unhinged, this second term president is unhindered. A rabid lame duck might be more accurate.
As I've written before, the revolving door is even more dangerous at the upper echelon. Before we congratulate ourselves for waking up to secrets they've kept hidden for millennia, we would do well to keep in mind, Our work has only just begun.
